EXPECT a wider and tougher playing field in the upcoming Milo Little Olympics-Visayas 2017 as nearby provinces will also be sending their best athletes to compete in the annual conclave which starts on August 24 at the Cebu City Sports Center.

The tournament which pits the top elementary and secondary athletes will also see the return of the University of Cebu, which skipped last year’s edition due to financial constraints.

“We have a lot of participants from Bacolod City, Iloilo and other provinces. The University of Cebu will also be back in this year’s edition,” said organizer Ricky Ballesteros.

The sports disciplines that will be competed this year are arnis, badminton, basketball, chess, football, gymnastics, karatedo, lawn tennis, scrabble, sepak takraw, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.

The press conference for the four-day event which ends on August 27 is slated today at 10 a.m. at SM Seaside.
