FOUR action-packed matches will highlight the start of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) football tournament on Sept. 10 at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) pitch.
Last year’s collegiate division runner-up, the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USP-F) Kicking Panthers will face former champion University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Kicking Jaguars in the opening day’s final match 3 p.m.
The 2015 collegiate winner University of Cebu (UC) Kicking Webmasters will face University of the Visayas (UV) Kicking Green Lancers in the first match of the collegiate division at 1 p.m. while secondary division first runner-up Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Greywolves will play University of San Carlos-Basic Education (USC-BED) Warriors at 8 a.m. It will be followed by the 10 a.m. battle between USP-F and USJ-R in the same division.
The Greywolves lost their title last year to Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC), 1-0, in the final. SHS-AdC will open its title defense on Sept. 17 versus DBTC at 10 a.m.
On Sept. 14, the reigning collegiate champions, USC will start defense of its crown against USJ-R at 1 p.m. followed by UC vs. USP-F at 3 p.m.
