Cesafi tennis competition starts this weekend at Alta Vista courts
THE CEBU Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) lawn tennis singles and doubles competition are set to get underway this weekend at the Alta Vista tennis courts.
Tournament director Fritz Tabura relayed to Cebu Daily News that the elimination rounds for both the secondary and collegiate divisions are scheduled this Saturday and Sunday while the semifinals and finals action are slated on Sept. 16 and 17.
Secondary action is scheduled in the morning while the collegiate play is booked in the afternoon.
“The college competition will be a double elimination then the high school will be a single-round robin elimination,” Tabura said.
Among the favorites to win the title in their respective divisions is reigning collegiate men’s singles champion, NJ Enriquez of the University of the Visayas, 2016 women’s champion Shyne Villareal of the University of San Carlos and the men’s duo of Clyde Bienes and Ralph Juliani of the University of Cebu.
