KOGI-Q-RIWAY now leads Division B of SHAABAA caging

KOGI-Q-RIWAY 37 seized the lead in Division B with a dominant 69-48 shellacking of the 1992 Silver Anniversary in the 22nd SHAABAA Basketball Tournament Powered by Common Ground on Wednesday at the Ateneo de Cebu basketball courts along Mango Avenue.

Dave Lim was once again a pillar of consistency for the winning side as he piled up 21 points, 13 rebounds, six assists and two steals. Theogene Lim also had 16 markers, seven boards, four dimes and two swipes as Kogi-Q-Riway improved to 8-0, half a game ahead of the idle Dynacast 2001.

2000 Core Pacific also remained within striking distance of the top squads after they blew away the 1999 AutoLAB, 58-36. Dave Ting was Batch 2000’s high-point man with 15 points while Joevince Canizares had a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.

In another Division B game, 1993 King Properties upset the 1995 Saver’s Depot, 54-45, as John Sulay came up big, putting up 18 points, 10 boards, three assists and two steals to help King Properties get their third win in nine games.

1994 Filmon Finishing Studio also got their second win of the competition after they topped the Chick@Phil, 52-49. Carlos Gothong paced Filmon Finishing Studio with 17 points.

In Division C, 2015 People’s General tied Batch 2007 for second place with a crushing 81-49 win over the 2011 Bling Nation. The win was Batch 2015’s sixth in seven matches.

2013 Hyksos also evened up their record at 4-4 after they edged 2014 Bling Nation, 42-40.
