USJ-R bags semis seat

THE UNIVERSITY of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) blew past the Cebu Eastern College (CEC), 25-8, 25-6, to clinch the first semifinal spot in the F2 Logistics Cesafi girls volleyball tournament yesterday at the University of San Carlos (USC) Main gym.

With the victory, the Baby Jaguars remained the only unbeaten squad in their division with a 5-0 (win-loss) slate while CEC dropped to 1-4.

Next up for the Baby Jaguars will be their old tormentors in reigning champions Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu on Sept 24 before closing out the eliminations against the Cebu Doctors’ University on Sept 30.

In other games, Southwestern University – Phinma registered its fourth win in five games after defeating USC, 25-9, 25-22, while the University of Southern Philippines Foundation downed the University of Cebu, 25-16, 25-16.
