IT’S that time of the year for our Chinese friends as it is the season to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival otherwise known as the Moon Festival.

Celebrated every 15th of the 8th lunar month, the Mooncake Festival dates back over 3,500 years and is the second grandest festival in China.

In keeping with this tradition, the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant in Cebu, Tin Gow located at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino offers mooncakes in a variety of traditional and contemporary fusion flavors.

Red Bean, Lotus with Salted Egg and Green Tea are just among the traditional Chinese flavors offered in Tin Gow. For those looking for a local and authentic Filipino touch for their mooncake, fusion flavors like Ube Tanduay, Puto Cheese, and Coconut Dried Mango are a few of the contemporary flavors customers can choose from.

For P250 each, you can already take part in this ancient Chinese tradition. Customers can also enjoy one free mooncake for every five pieces that they buy at Tin Gow until October 2.

Most Chinese regard the Mooncake Festival as their way of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest as it also marks the end of summer’s harvest.

You may visit Tin Gow from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM for lunch and 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM for dinner at the Gourmet Walk, lobby level of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. For reservations and inquiries, you may call them at 032-232-6888 local 8607.
