Cebuanos land in top 5 in Asian MTB series
TWO CEBUANOS finished within top five in their respective categories in the third leg of the Asian Mountain Bike Series over the weekend in Timor Leste.
Danao City’s Niño Surban finished fifth place in the Men’s Elite Downhill while Jun Duron, a rider from Talisay City, also wound up fourth place in the Men’s Master Cross Country.
Surban finished the 1.6-kilometer course in four minutes and 31.04 .
Eleazar Barba Jr. of Taokas Racing Team was crowned champion in the downhill race, finishing a minute and 7.31 seconds faster than Surban.Rapidino Race Team’s Duron, meanwhile, clocked an hour and 17 seconds in the 13.17-km race.

Ferreira of BTT/BPI/Eleris won the men’s masters category with a time of 49 minutes and 10 seconds.
Ariana Dormitorio of Team Ariana-Specialized placed second in the 17.5km Women Elite cross country race but remained the overall leader of the Asian series.
She clocked in 1:21:22, just 58 seconds behind Portuguese National Champion Celina Carpinteiro.
