SHE is back. More than four months since taking a Twitter break, Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza returned to Twitter Sunday night, much to the delight of her fans.
Her comeback happened right after she and her loveteam partner Alden Richards graced ADN Fest 2017, a gathering organized and funded by and participated in by their fans held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
It was the second ADN (AlDub Nation) Fest after last year’s gathering which was also a huge success.
Also present during Sunday’s event were Richards’ father, Richard Faulkerson Jr. and Mendoza’s parents, Teodoro and Mary Ann Mendoza. Mendoza’s tweet after her four-month Twitter hiatus was: “Thank you very much, AldubNation! Salamat sa suporta at pagmamahal na walang sawa niyong binibigay! #ADNFestival2017.”
She also included four photos from the event, two of which were of her and Richards, one of her and Richards with a portion of the crowd and a photo of some of the event’s performers. As of 6 p.m. yesterday, her tweet had more than 11,000 retweets and almost 32,000 likes.
Fans took their excitement on Twitter, posting more than 1.1 million tweets for the hashtag #ADN-Festival2017. To recall, Mendoza deactivated her Twitter because of negativity.
Before deactivating her account, Mendoza made a series of tweets last June 3. Her first tweet posted at 1:54 p.m. read, “When peace and love are no longer being served; and whenever u find yourself taking in so much negativity, you have to take a break & reflect.”
At 2:32 p.m, she had another Twitter post, “Sometimes we need to disconnect and reconnect. Taking a break is necessary to save yourself and others from drowning.” Mendoza’s last tweet before deactivating was, “I hope we all stop pulling each other down.” The host-actress has 4.5 million followers on Twitter.
Her bio on her account is “Yup, I am that girl” which is also the title of her first book which will be formally launched on Oct. 26.
