TWO male guests of a pension house bore a hole on a wall of the room they were staying, clambered down to a roof of an establishment beside the pension house where a gadget shop is located, destroyed the roof to enter the shop, and fled with cash, laptops, and several gadgets all in a matter of hours on Saturday night.

Fuente police said the burglary was reported on Monday morning or Nov. 27 when the Thinking Tools Inc. outlet’s workers, who opened the shop, discovered the burglary.

Chief Insp. Maria Theresa Macatangay of the Fuente Police Station said that the two burglars stayed at the pension house, which is beside the Thinking Tools outlet in R. Langdon Street, Cebu City.

Macatangay said that the two burglars rented a room in the fourth floor of the pension house using fake names.

She said that the burglars fled with laptops, cell phones, other gadgets and an undetermined amount of money that they took from the shop’s vault.

“Wala pa nagpahibalo ang owner kung pila g’yud ang amount sa nawala sa shop ug wala pa gyud mahibaw-i kung pila ka gadgets and nakawat (The owner has not yet given how many gadgets were taken and how much money was stolen),” said Macatangay.

Initial investigation of the Cebu City Police Office Theft and Robbery Section showed that the burglars bore a hole using a drill at the cemented wall of the pension house, climb down from the hole to the roof of the gadget shop, destroyed a part of the roof and entered the shop from there.

The burglars also wore bonnets when they entered the shop to hide their identities from security cameras of the shop.

The investigation showed that the burglary happened between 7 p.m. to midnight on Nov. 25.
