China hails first flight to Antarctica for tourists

Want to see penguins this Christmas? Then board China’s first commercial flight to Antarctica .

The first commercial flight to Antarctica successfully landed on Saturday; carrying about around 20 Chinese passengers. The plane departed from Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The flight took about 15-hours, and a transfer in Cape Town, South Africa before passengers took off for another 5-hour flight to Antarctica .
