Police officer mauled by bystanders

A non-commissioned police officer was mauled by bystanders in Barangay Talamban on Thursday dawn.

The victim was identified as PO2 Roldan Florentino, who is assigned to the police station in San Francisco town sustained bruises all over his body after he was mauled by four bystanders but his condition now is now stable.

According to Florentino, the attack happened around 2 a.m. when he was heading home.

On Thursday noon, Ian Paul Cabarrubias, one of the suspects who mauled Florentino surrendered to the police and is now detained at Talamban Police precinct.

Police are now conducting a hot pursuit operation for the capture of the remaining bystanders and also conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the attack.
