Woman killed, grandson injured in Carcar shooting
A woman was shot dead while her 4-year-old grandson was wounded by three unknown assailants in Barangay Liburon, Carcar City on Tuesday afternoon.
Police identified the victims as Augustina Espinoza, 53, and her 4-year-old grandson Kevin Espinoza from barangay Liburon.
According to PO2 Ariel Yap, Carcar Police desk officer, Espinoza was cradling her grandson when three unidentified assailants shot her.
Espinoza sustained multiple gunshot wounds on her body which caused her immediate death, while Kevin was injured.
Police recovered seven empty shells from a 45 caliber pistol.
The Police are now conducting a hot pursuit operation and also conducting an investigation behind the motive of the attack.
