BASKETBALL players in Cebu who dream of one day playing under the bright lights of the UAAP will get their shot next week as the Adamson University Soaring Falcons stage tryouts for their high school and collegiate teams on January 9 and 10 at the Magis Eagles Arena inside the Ateneo de Cebu campus in Canduman, Mandaue City.
The two-day tryouts begin at 7 p.m. and will end at 9 p.m. The tryouts are open for players aged 15 to 21 years.
Supervising the sessions will be Adamson’s collegiate team multi-titled head coach Franz Pumaren and top assistant Tonichi Yturri.
The Falcons have grown in leaps and bounds in recent years, making it to the Final Four this past season before bowing out to La Salle.
There are several Cesafi products on the team’s roster led by Koko Pingoy, former Cesafi juniors MVP Dawn Ochea, former Cesafi seniors Mythical Five member Conrad Catapusan and ex-University of the Visayas big man Michael Macion.
