Maxene Magalona and Robby Mananquil wed in Boracay

Maxene Magalona and Robby Mananquil

ACTRESS Maxene Magalona tied the knot with musician Robby Mananquil last Thursday at Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa in Boracay Island.

She walked down the aisle as her late father Francis Magalona’s popular song, “Girl Be Mine” was played.

Maxene is the daughter of Francis and Pia. Her siblings are Una, Nicolo, Francis Jr., Saab, Arkin, Elmo, and Clara.

Among the well-wishers was Saab, Maxene’s sister who failed to attend the wedding due to her pregnancy.

“Today my maid-of-honor gets married and, as her matron-of-honor, I’m so sad that I can’t be with her physically. I recently learned that I am not allowed to travel anymore until after the twins’ birth,” Saab said.

“I really wish I could be there, but with her big and selfless heart, she told me not to worry about it because the safety of my babies is what’s more important. I love you, @maxenemagalona, and I am currently crying buckets from Manila.

(I’m also wearing my matron-of-honor dress in bed like a crazy woman. It’s the hormones.) #MagalonaMananquil,” Saab ended her Instagram post.

In an Instagram post yesterday, Saab posted two similar photos of her and Maxene—during Saab’s wedding to musican Jim Bacarro in 2015 and Maxene and Robby’s “small church ceremony just for family” last Monday.

“I’m so happy we were able to recreate this photo. I love you, Maxx!!! Spent all day just stalking your Boracay wedding. We didn’t even realize that we wore our hair the exact same way 2 years ago!!! Love you so much.”

Maxene admitted her relationship with Mananquil in 2015. Last February 2017, she announced their engagement which happened during their
vacation in Japan.

Pia also shared on her Instagram account a photo of Maxene and Robby with the caption, “First dance.”

Celebrities present during the wedding included Gary Valenciano, Janella Salvador, Tim Yap, Megan Young, Lauren Young, and Julia Montes, JayR and Mikael Daez.
