AFTER her “Cebuana” single became a huge hit, Karen Ann Cabrera, more popularly known as Karencitta, has assured her fans that they will be hearing more Bisaya songs from her soon.

The 22-year-old singer and online sensation confirmed in a press conference last Friday (January 12) at SM Seaside City Cebu that she is working on an album this year.

“Kasagaran sa akong upcoming songs kay more upbeat, pop. Sayaw sayaw jud para enjoy,” she said.

Entertainment press and bloggers got to hear one of her newest songs titled, “Love Burn” which will be launched soon.

Karencitta is also set on penetrating the international market as she wants to uplift the Bisaya music and artists.

She will be signing with Capital Records based in Hollywood which also has big-name stars Dua Lipa, The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Sam Smith.

“So it is in the works. I am very excited. It is just the start. Philippines pa lang na hit ang ‘Cebuana’ and we will start marketing it sa US,
Europe,” she added.

“Cebuana” topped Spotify Philippines on November 27, 2017. The song’s music video gained one million views less than 24 hours after it was
uploaded.

Karencitta, a full-blooded Cebuano, recognized that there is a lack of recognition and respect for Bisaya songs in the country.

“Dapat madunggan pud ta sa Manila, sa whole Philippines. Sa tinuod lang ang Bisaya music kay dili man baduy bisag daghan nag
ingon,” she said.

“It’s quality music. Give us the chance,” Karencitta added.

Karencitta is in Cebu for Sinulog shows including one on January 16 which will be held at the Mountain Wing Atrium at SM Seaside City Cebu.
