Personnel from the Mandaue City Demolition team served past 6 p.m. today a show cause order on three establishments in the city – MO2, The Sentral, and Club Hatchi – that staged Sinulog parties without a mayor’s permit.

At 6:20 p.m. the team served the show cause order to MO2 bar in Mandaue North Reclamation Area. Its manager received the show cause order.

At 6:50 p.m. , the MCD team proceeded to Sentral in A. S. Fortuna St. in Mandaue. However, the bar was closed when the personnel arrived to serve the order.

At 7:15 p.m., another show cause order was served at Club Hatchi located on M.C. Briones Street. Its cashier received the order.

According to Jaime Jose Baclay of the MCD team, they still have to return to Club Hatchi later this 10 p.m., when the bar’s manager was expected to arrive, and for the latter to receive a copy of the order.

“Mo balik mi inig 10 p.m. kay naka dawat man gyud mi ug order ni Atty. James Sayson from the Mandaue City Legal Office na ang manager pud kay dapat maka dawat.” Said Baclay.

(We need to come back at 10 p.m. because we received an aorder from Atty. James Sayson of the Mandaue City Legal office that the manager should also receive a copy of the order)

Baclay said they would also return to The Sentral bar tomorrow to serve the order.

In a separate interview, Mandaue City Mayor Luigi Quisumbing said MO2 and The Sentral failed to secure a mayor’s permit for their special events last Saturday, which were held in relations to the Sinulog festivities.

The mayor said Club Hatchi should also be looked into as it had the most number of reported injuries involving its owner, bouncers and waiters against their customers since December last year.

The show cause order will require the management of the establishments to explain within five days why their business should not be shut down.

“We do not want this kind of businesses here in Mandaue who defies our laws and create a hub for trouble,” added Quisumbing.
