TV PERSONALITY Phoebe Kaye Fernandez is venturing into the beauty business.

Colors and Peach, a studio salon co-owned by Phoebe with Chad Varquez and Mika Caram, officially opened on Feb. 24.

“I am happy with the opportunities given to me in the entertainment industry—in my work and the events that I am doing. Seeing the fruits of my labor gives me a real sense of fulfillment ,” Phoebe said during the blessing and media preview of the salon located at GPH Central building in barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City.

Phoebe has been with ABS-CBN Cebu for eight years now. She used to be one of the hosts of magazine show “MagTV na Cebu” and is currently anchor of the Star Patrol segment in TV Patrol Central Visayas.

“I have always been searching for the right investment, for the right business; I think if you pray really hard, things will fall into place,” she tells us.

“There will come a time when I would have to say goodbye to show business,” she adds.

Now 30 years old, she said that she put up the business with her future family in mind.

WHAT’S WITH THE NAME?

Phoebe said she came up with “Colors and Peach” because she wanted a unique name that has not been used as a hashtag on
social media.

“Peach connotes something beautiful in the US. Nindot siya paminawon,” Phoebe said.

She also wanted the salon to sound “global” since they’re planning to open more branches in future.

On why she chose a salon as her debut business venture, Phoebe said she followed the advice of Varquez, her boyfriend, who told her that the salon industry in Cebu is not yet saturated.

“I suggested that they go into an industry they are familiar with. Aside from bringing out the best version of yourself, you also bring out the best version of other people. That is the tagline,” Varquez explained.

Colors and Peach offers nail and hair services, using international brands so clients are assured of quality service and value for their money.

One of the salon’s ultimate goals is to provide free makeover sessions so that they can tell inspiring stories.

”We want to build a community that is inspired, and a community that has inspiring individuals. That is our vision,” Caram said.
