Kamagayan resident, minor nabbed with 100 ampules of Nubain
A minor and a 23-year-old man were caught with 100 ampules of Nubain during an anti-illegal drug operation on Friday along Pelaez St. corner Sanciangko St., Cebu City.
Anrell Cuico, 23, and a 16-year-old boy of Sitio Santo Niño, Barangay Kamagayan, Cebu City were arrested with the illegal substance, police said.
Nubain is a restricted injectable painkiller, and according to the Philippine Enforcement Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas in earlier reports has been a drug of choice among junkies especially with the rising prices of shabu due to the intensified police operations.
Police said that the 100 ampules of Nubain were estimated to be worth P20,000.
The arrest of Cuico and the minor was the result of a joint operation of the Police Drug Enforcement Group in the Visayas, Cebu City Police Office Intelligence Branch and Parian Police Precinct.
Cuico was detained at the Parian Police Precinct detention cell while the minor would be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
