THE JAX Basketball Camp is getting ready to kick off its comprehensive basketball training camp on Monday at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court.

Now on its third year, this year’s edition of the camp founded by former University of the Philippines, University of San Carlos and Southwestern University-Phinma point guard Jacques Bautista, is ready for another go-around, this time with Gilas Pilipinas assistant coach Ryan Betia and camp director Mike Reyes leading the impressive roster of coaches who will be handling the camp participants.

Betia, also an assistant coach with UAAP powerhouse squad Far Eastern University Tamaraws, will be working alongside his former boss in Reyes, the brother of current Gilas head coach, Chot Reyes.

The two have previously worked together on the sidelines for the USC Warriors.

Incidentally, Bautista played for both coaches during his time playing for USC.

The Jax Basketball Camp is offering quality and high intensity fun drills for aspiring young players.

It keeps its focus on creating responsible players inside and outside the court, while guiding them to reach their maximum potential through sports.

The camp would be teaching drills based on four fundamental aspects, namely skill development, strength and conditioning, food and nutrition and competitive training.

The time slot for 12-under campers is at 1 p.m. while 13-above players will be at 2:30 p.m.

Camp fee is inclusive of a complete basketball uniform and a Wilson basketball. Batch 1 starts on April 23 until May 5 while Batch 2 starts on May 14.
