Former University of San Carlos champion head coach Britt Reroma is back to coaching in the Philippines and it’s not anywhere near his hometown of Cebu.
This, as he has signed on to be head coach of the Bulacan Kuyas in the fast-rising Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL).
In a brief talk with Cebu Daily News, Reroma detailed how grateful he is to be back in the country after taking coaching gigs abroad after he guided the USC Warriors to its first Cesafi title in 57 years back in 2015.
“It’s an honor to be part of the MPBL and the Bulacan Kuyas. It feels great!” said the former San Beda Red Cubs mentor.
Reroma also spoke of his connections with the San Beda community that paved the way for his latest coaching assignment.
“I’m here in Bulacan because of its connections – from the management to players – to San Beda. Our team owner is a Bedan, Congressman Jonathan Sy – Alvarado. Some players like JR Taganas, James Martinez, Jerome Villanueva and Gboy Babilonia are also Bedans,” Reroma shared.
Reroma also divulged that he is eying a few Cebuanos for his squad, namely former pros Jerick Canada and Jason Melano.
“I have already talked to them and they are coming over in the next few weeks,” said Reroma.
