FOUR-TIME Mr. Olympia Weekend Men’s Physique champion Jeremy Buendia was in Cebu yesterday to meet local bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts.

Around a hundred trooped to the Ching Palace in Lahug, Cebu City to meet the champion, a half-Filipino bodybuilding professional who started his bodybuilding career when he was 17 years old. His Filipino father, also a bodybuilder, inspired him to pursue the same path.

Buendia is currently competing under the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (IFBB).

While in the country, Buendia plans to scout for talents he can help.

“I will be taking a few athletes from here in the Philippines to work with us and also help them get to the next level,” Buendia told Cebu Daily News. “I just wanna encourage them (the Filipinos) to work hard. Because they have an opportunity now that my affiliation plans to organize events out here.”

Buendia is also here to promote his brands, Herax Hero Clothing Line and Evogen Nutrition.

“I am currently injured right now. The 2018 Mr. Olympia is very questionable for me. So if I won’t be able to come up on stages, I will be focusing more on the business aspects and helping the athletes here in the Philippines,” he said.

After yesterday’s meet and greet which was organized by Dick Robertson Yu of Wisechoice Supplements, Buendia will be collaborating with his team, Team Hero, here in the Philippines.
