CEBUANO Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter Roel “Akiyama” Rosauro faltered at the hands of Indonesian Sunoto “The Terminator” Peringkat who won via unanimous decision in last Friday night’s undercard of One Championships: Unstoppable Dream at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Singapore.

Rosauro suffered his third defeat with three wins in his professional MMA career while Peringkat clinched his ninth win with three defeats on his card.

Rosauro, a native of Camotes Island, Cebu, who fights under the banner of YawYan ArDigma Cebu, capitalized on his fierce striking abilities, tagging Peringkat with solid punches and kicks to the head and body, but the latter avoided these moves in the ensuing rounds by taking down the Cebuano fighter on the canvas excessively to pile up points.

Peringkat was able to neutralize Rosauro’s strikes by pinning him to the ground and throwing punches to the head and body occasionally.

Rosauro had fought in the bantamweight division this time, stepping one weight division down compared to his debut fight in the One Championships against Chinese Li Kai Wen wherein he fought in the heavier featherweight division. He lost to Wen via submission in the first round.

Filipino MMA champion Eduard Folayang, meanwhile, won by unanimous decision over Russian Kharun Atlangeriev in the lightweight division.

The main event had Singaporean Women’s One atomweight world champion Angela Lee successfully defending her title in a tightly contested rematch against Japanese Mei Yamaguchi via unanimous decision.

One Championship two-division world champion Vietnamese-Aussie Martin Nguyen escaped with a split decision victory against Christian Lee, Angle Lee’s younger brother.
