Lightning strikes, kills Argao resident

A 42-year-old man died after he was struck by lightning at past 6 p.m. on Tuesday (June 19) inside his house in Argao, a southern town about 68 km from Cebu City.

The victim was identified as Larry Bajenting.

According to responding police officers and members of the disaster risk reduction management office, Bajenting was sitting on a chair in the living room of his house near a TV set when lightning hit the antenna of the TV and the victim,

Bajenting suffered severe burns in the different parts of his body.

The victim’s wife tried to help and revive him but to no avail.

Bajenting was rushed to the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital for treatment, but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
