A whirlwind was formed on the seawaters of Pilar, Camotes on Monday afternoon.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Mactan Weather Specialist Jomar Eclarino said the whirlwind, locally known as alimpulos, has a maximum speed of at least 450 kilometer per hour and could last not more than ten minutes.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Head Baltazar Tribunalo Jr. said there were no reported casualties during the occurrence.
