Suzuki Auto South Cebu to launch all-new Swift and Dzire
Suzuki Auto South Cebu will launch two promising all-new vehicles on Tuesday, July 17, at its dealership along the Mambaling-South Road Properties road in Cebu City.
The dealership, a member of Sakura Autoworld Inc., will formally welcome to its vehicle lineup the fourth generation Suzuki Swift hatchback and the next-gen Suzuki Dzire subcompact sedan in a launching event that starts at 5 p.m.
The two all-new vehicles are expected to make waves in the local auto industry with their new exterior and interior features and their practicality.
The Swift will always be a contender in its segment since it already has a following with the hip generation of Cebuanos, but what really looks promising is the B-segment bet Dzire.
The Dzire (note that Suzuki dropped the Swift nameplate from the previous generation, which was called the Swift Dzire) has the same fun factor with the Swift hatchback but in a more practical and spacious manner.
The highlight of the Dzire is its automated manual transmission dubbed the Auto Gear Shift (AGS). It basically is a manual transmission without the clutch. But it isn’t an automatic, too. Sounds confusing?
Guys from Suzuki Auto South Cebu tell us the whole system is, in simple terms, a manual transmission that doesn’t need the use of a clutch pedal. The clutch and gear changes are controlled electronically, depending on pedal pressure and speed.
A more technical explanation is that the AGS has a control unit which has the actuator and controller integrated as one and directly mounted to the transmission.
The clutch, gearshift and engine synergistically controlled to provide a smoother and quicker shift.
Still confused?
Well, we can’t blame you. It’s best to visit the dealership and check it out yourselves. We’ve heard the guys from Suzuki Auto South
Cebu are pretty good with their products, proof of that is the three successive years being the no. 1 dealer group.
We will have a more in-depth review of the vehicle once the dealership lends us its demo unit soon.
For the meantime, here are some photos of the two all-new vehicles from Suzuki:
