THE TECH Mahindra Mighties gained a share of the lead in the standings in the Evo League after they bested the SSI Research Now Warriors, 73-65, in the Tanduay Athletics E-Leagues for Basketball last weekend at the City Sports Club-Cebu basketball court.
Robert Rebano led the team in scoring with 21 points while King Luigi Olbes continued to showcase his all-around game, this time piling up 16 points to go with 12 rebounds and seven assists.
The win pushed Tech Mahindra into a tie with the Optum Knights, at 2-0, in the early goings of this tournament.
Also making a successful debut in the competition was Kyocera, which nipped the Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs, 66-64. Ariel Edera was the man of the hour for Kyocera as he piled up 20 points, eight rebounds, seven steals, five assists and a blocked shot.
In another game, Author Solutions Inc. Hardbacks dropped the Shearwater Health Crusaders, 67-52, behind the 15 points of Marc Alvarez. The
Bombardier also got past the Cognizant Tech Solutions Gladiators, 69-60, while JP Morgan, beat the Results Manila Spartans, 77-61.
