Osmeña’s birthday wish: ‘Oust Alvarez’

Aside from becoming a more progressive Cebu City, Mayor Tomas Osmeña has another birthday wish as he will turn 70 on Thursday, July 26.
In a press conference today (July 23), Osmeña expressed hope that reports on replacing House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez will come true.
The mayor made this statement after reports that several lawmakers plotted to oust Alvarez and be replaced with former President and Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Alvarez is known to be a supporter of Presidential Assistant to the Visayas Michael Dino.
“I think that’s a challenge by the House under former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to unseat Alvarez who is the major supporter of Dino (Presidential Assistant of the Visayas Michael Dino),” said Osmeña. / Gerard Vincent Francisco, USJ-R Intern
