Two murder victims tied to traffic aide’s slay
Two of three persons who were shot to death in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-Lapu City last Sunday afternoon were persons of interest in the murder of City Traffic Management System (CTMS) traffic enforcer Edmond Boter.
Supt. Eloveo Marquez, chief of the Investigation Detective Management Branch (IDMB-LLCPO) said Angni Osman and Jamel Babanggol were identified by the witnesses in security camera footage taken of Boter’s murder in barangay Poblacion, Lapu-lapu City.
Osman, his son Nasim Osman and Babanggol were killed by four unidentified motorcycle riding assailants inside a computer shop, while Osman was found dead outside the shop.
Marquez said they are looking into allegations that the murders are related to the killing of Lapu-Lapu City Muslim Ambulant Vendors Association president Maodin Lucman last June 7.
Supt. Elmer Lim, deputy city police director for operations, assured that Lapu-Lapu City remains safe for law-abiding residents and visitors even as he warned criminal groups to stay away.
CTMS chief Mario Napole said his people were demoralized by the killings of Boter and some traffic enforcers are thinking of resigning from the jobs.
