Council committee approves proposed deal between city gov’t and Angkas drivers

The Committee on Laws of the Cebu City Council approved the request of Cebu City Administrator Nigel Villarete to pilot test the viability of the proposed joint venture project using hailing applications in providing Angkas services for Cebu City constituents.
Opposition councilors, however, questioned the proposal since there is an existing law that bans motorcycle-for-hire as means of public transportation.
