AS EXPECTED, Toledo City Mayor John Henry “Sonny” Osmeña has dumped incumbent Vice Mayor Dr. Antonio Yapha as his running mate in next year’s election.
Osmeña instead will run with Councilor Joy Perales.
Osmeña told reporters that he has lost trust in Yapha whom he accused of betraying him.
Osmeña even elaborated the help he has extended to Yapha through the years when they were still allies like facilitating the issuance of the latter’s medical license which was revoked when he allegedly left forceps inside the stomach of a patient he operated on years ago.
He also claimed to have paid Yaph’s medical bills when the latter underwent a heart bypass.
The feisty local chief executive also blamed Yapha for the delayed salaries of Toledo’s job order and regular employees allegedly because Yapha refused to sign the payroll.
Cebu Daily News tried to get Yapha’s comments but failed.
Mayor Osmeña accompanied his entire slate in filing their certificates of candidacy (COCs) yesterday but has not filed his own COC.
