Cebuano talents perform in the grand showdown

A showcase of Cebu’s best in the fields of music, beauty and dance sport kept the crowd excited and glued to their seats waiting for the second batch of Sinulog performers.

Winners of the Sinulog dance contest, Sinulog Idol 2014 and the Dynamic dance sport team Cebu City performed on stage.

The Voice Philippines finalist and Cebuana singer Eva de los Santos belted “Love on Top,” by Beyonce and “Grenade” by Bruno Mars during the Best of Cebu portion earning her cheers from the crowd.

Santos also sang a Visayan number while her daughter Monique de los Santos replaced her by performing a Katy Perry song “Roar.”

The mother-and-daughter tandem also sang “Just Give Me A Reason” by Pink and “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen. Newly crowned Miss Cebu 2014 Cherymiel Dianne Muego and her court were also presented before the Sinulog crowd wearing originally designed gowns by Cebuano designers.

A plaque was given by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama to Miss Tourism International Angeline Dione Gomez “for giving honor and prestige to the city of Cebu.”

Gomez wore a gown designed by Cebuano Carey Santiago during her presentation before the Sinulog crowd. Couple Edward and Elainor Hayco joined the Cebu City dance sport team and the students of their barangay summer class program in a dance presentation. Kids wearing black wigs changed costumes from black and white to fruity orange to regale the crowd.
