The Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) said that the Province of Cebu celebrated the All Saints’ Day peacefully except for minor violators in the cemeteries.

Police Supt. Janette Rafter, CPPO information officer, said that there had been no major crimes in any of the provinces during the celebration.

“Kaluoy sa Ginoo, malinawon ra gyod ang mga sementeryo sa Sugbo. (By God’s mercy, the cemeteries in Cebu were peaceful),” said Rafter.

Rafter went on rounds to all five public cemeteries on Talisay City which she said has the largest population of cemetery goers.

The numbers they are still trying to count as of 6:30 p.m.

She said the most common violations in cemeteries are the bringing of liquors and loud sound system.

“It’s okay to celebrate but we need to respect the solemnity of the celebration,” Rafter said.

In Talisay City,  Police Chief Inspector Ardie Cabagnot, Deputy Chief of the Talisay Police Station, said that the crowd at the Talisay cemetery began to increase around 4 p.m.

He is expecting more visitors and will remain on full alert.
