Catch the country’s most exotic vintage cars at the Tour de Cebu 2018

THE GREATEST historic sports car rally in the Philippines, Tour de Cebu 218, revs up on November 15, 2018 with a must-see display featuring iconic cars at the Montebello Villa Hotel from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Now on its fifth year, Tour de Cebu is the country’s only 1,000-kilometer rally of its kind staged across the Visayas. Organized by the Performance and Classics Enthusiasts (PACE) of Cebu, the event highlights vintage cars manufactured in the year 1972 and earlier and takes inspiration from the Mille Miglia, an open-road endurance race held in Italy.

1964 MG Midget (Driver Bai Burila)

1972 Datsun 240Z (Driver Tyrone Tan)

Car enthusiasts can get a glimpse of the 40 exotic vehicles that are joining the rally. These include the Porsche 356A of businessman Jay Aldeguer; Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint of renowned industrial designer, Kenneth Cobonpue; AC Cobra of ophthalmologist and laser eye surgeon, Dr. Yong Larrazabal; Jaguar XK-E of businessman, Michael Lhuillier; MGA of actor Dominic Ochoa and the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible, which is the oldest in the country, of social entrepreneur Illac Diaz, among others.

The drivers will speed off from Cebu to Bohol on November 16 for the three-day regularity rally where teams make use of their navigation skills to reach checkpoints at a predefined time as opposed to the fastest time possible.

Tour de Cebu seeks to promote the preservation of historic sports cars. Participating vehicles go through a process where they are carefully chosen and rally-prepared months before the event to ensure that they last the race.

The event is presented by Petron and co-presented by BE Grand Resort. Official Partners include Chopard, Coventry Motors Corp. (Jaguar/Land Rover), Montebello Villa Hotel, LiquiMoly, Pirelli, Johnny Air Plus, and FastCat.
