AFTER making history as the first-ever “The Clash” champion, Golden Cañedo makes a sweet homecoming to Cebu today.
The “Golden Voice of Cebu” will treat her fans to a Kapuso Fans’ Day in Robinsons Galleria Cebu at 4 p.m.
Prior to her Kapuso Fans’ Day, Golden will visit the Minglanilla government office in the morning for a courtesy call with the local government officials.
This will be followed by a motorcade where Golden is expected to go around her hometown. She will visit her alma mater Tungcop Elementary School and UV Minglanilla High School before proceeding to Barangay Tungkil for a Kapuso Barangayan.
In Robinsons Galleria later in the afternoon, the pride of Cebu will be joined by fellow “The Clash” graduates “Matinik na Heartthrob ng Valenzuela” Anthony Rosaldo and “Tower of Power ng Olongapo” Garrett Bolden.
Golden, who was also the youngest finalist in The Clash, recently inked a contract with GMA Records. During the contract signing, she shared that while she is still overwhelmed with the new milestone in her life, this inspired her to do better in her upcoming album to express her gratitude to all her supporters.
“Parang panaginip po talaga ang mga nangyayari sa buhay ko. May ginagawa po silang album para sa akin. Ngayon, pinaghahandaan ko na po iyon. Pangarap ko po talagang magkaroon ng sariling kanta,” she said in an interview.
“We congratulate Golden Cañedo as the first-ever The Clash champion,” shares GMA Regional TV Vice President and Head Oliver Amoroso.
“And after her laudable performance, GMA Regional TV is proud to give her a much-deserved homecoming in Cebu—back to where she started her journey. I know her fellow Cebuanos have been waiting for this day and we hope that they will continue to
support Golden as the newest Kapuso singer,” he adds.
Golden is regularly seen with her fellow Top 6 Clashers in the musical-variety program “Studio 7” which airs every Sunday evening on GMA 7.
