Harley Davidson, Mercedes Benz at stake in Eagles Golf Tournament

A HARLEY Davidson and a Mercedes Benz will be waiting for anyone who can score a hole-in-one in this year’s Eagles Golf Tournament which will be happening on December 7, 2018, Friday, at the Cebu Country Club (CCC).

This year’s Eagles golf tournament will be hosted by the Sacred Heart School (SHS), (now SHS-Ateneo de Cebu) Batch ‘93 and is targeting a total of 200 participants.

According to Sydney Go, who co-chairs the golfest with Clark Gothong, what makes this year’s Eagles Golf Tournament different from previous stagings and to celebrate its 25th year, they are putting up four par 3s for a hole-in-one with each hole having different prizes.

Aside from the Harley Davidson and the Mercedes Benz, other hole-in-one prizes are Skygo motorcycles and a bathroom package from Filmon Hardware, Inc.

The tournament which uses the stroke play scoring system is open not only to SHS alumni but also to non-alumni and CCC member and non-member.

Registration fee for the SHS alumni is pegged at P2,500 while P3,500 is for the non-alumni and non-CCC member. Categories will be individual class A, B and C and team class A, B and C. The team must be manned by two golfers. All individual participants can join the team category whose winner will be determined by the accumulative scores of the two members.

Trophies will be given to the champions, first and second runners up in both the individual and team categories. For the team winners, each member will also get a trophy.

The SHS Alumni participants will be vying for the perpetual trophy which will go the person with the best score or the lowest net or the overall champion. The winner’s name will be etched on the trophy alongside the names of the previous winners.

Except for the perpetual trophy which can only be won by an SHS alumni, the other titles of the tournament are open to all.

Tee off times from 5 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. will require at least one CCC member per flight while from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., flights will not require a CCC member to start play.

The awarding ceremony will be held about 6 p.m. of the same date of play wherein dinner will also be served. Aside from getting a loot bag, participants will be treated to an entertainment and a raffle which includes prizes such as Rolex and Omega watches.
Special awards will also be given such as accurate drive and close to the pin.

The golf tournament is part of year-long activities spearheaded by Batch ‘93 which included making donations to the Cebu New Hope, and medical and feeding missions, among others.
