HOSTS DOMINATE: CIS tankers show off, emerge overall champion in CIS Age Group Invitational Swim Meet
Host Cebu International School (CIS) defended their turf yesterday after their tankers tallied the most number of first-place finishes to emerge as the overall champion in the 1st CIS Age Group Invitational Swim Meet at the CIS swimming pool in Pit-os, Talamban.
The CIS swimmers logged in a total of 30 first-place finishes to tally a combined team score of 682 points.
The one-day event was participated by swimmers who have not yet competed and won in any swimming meet like inter-barangay, inter-school, inter-club, school intramurals, local and national competitions.
Topping the list of CIS winners are Thalia Leonard and Cassandra Marie Marquez, who ruled four different events each in their respective age group categories.
Kevin de Keijzer also shone bright for CIS as he lorded over three different events in the boys division, while Michelle Coyle conquered another two events in the distaff side in padding CIS’s edge over its closest rival, the Narwhal Swimming Team, which tallied a total of 537 points.
Taking up the third spot in the competition aimed at helping in promoting swimming in Cebu at the grassroots level is the Ateneo de Cebu-Sacred Heart School swimming team, which registered 428 points, while Bright Academy Swimming Club landed fourth with 133 points.
