#LOOKUP stargazing event at Cebu City Public Library on April 12
Cebu City, Philippines — A group from the Indiana Aerospace University (IAU) will be organizing a free stargazing event on April 12, 2019 at the Cebu City Public Library along Osmeña Boulevard.
The free telescope viewing event, dubbed #LOOKUP, is held in line with the centennial celebration of the iconic Cebu City Public Library in the month of April.
The event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
This will be the third year that IAU Astronomical Society will be organizing the event.
The library has been one of IAU- Astronomical Society’s partners because they know that the books found in the library can help them spread their passion for astronomy.
Aside from the free telescope viewing, there will also be a station where the group will be discussing basic astronomy and deep space to all those who are interested.
Jeremy Bajado, President of IAU-Astronomical Society, said that this year, the IAU Astronomy Society, together with some of astronomy organizations, will be bringing more telescopes for the event.
“The IAU-As has six (telesecopes ) but we will only be bringing four to accommodate the other organizations who will also be bringing their telescopes. We are looking at six or maybe more telescopes for this year” said Bajdo.
Aside from celebrating the centennial year of the library, April is also the National Literature Month. /bmjo
