Police raids Camotes town mayor’s home

CEBU CITY, Philippines — Operatives from the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) raided the house of incumbent San Francisco Mayor Aly Arquillano past 6 a.m., on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

In a text message sent to CDN Digital, Police Captain Alejandro Batobalonos, PIB chief, said they served a search warrant against Arquillano for illegal possession of firearms.

The search warrant was issued by the Barili Regional Trial Court Branch 60.

Batobalonos said they are still searching Arquillano’s house for any fire arms.

San Francisco is one of the four towns comprising Camotes Island, located 257 kilometers northeast of Cebu City.
