CEBU CITY, Philippines — If Cordova town in Mactan Island has the 10,000 roses in the 10,000 Roses Cafe, Oslob town in southern Cebu has also its 3,000 tulips.

The garden of 3,000 plastic tulips is found in Barangay Gawi in the Tulip Valley Flower, a restaurant with a viewing deck in Oslob, a southern town known for its whale shark watching activities.

Mancini Romares, Tulip Valley Flower, said he was hoping that the place would become a tourist stop-over in the town.

Romares, a businessman, said that they wanted to have a unique area similar to 10,000 roses in Cordova town, but they wanted it to be different as well so they chose tulips over roses for the resto’s garden.

He said that they used 18,000 plastic spoons, which made up 60 percent of the plastic tulips.

He said they had collected the plastic spoons from the parties around the area.

Romares said that the plastic tulips of white, yellow and red would welcome the visitors alongside their real garden with real flowers situated overlooking the sea./dbs
