CEBU CITY, Philippines – His face off with Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña will push through as scheduled on April 22.
Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella, the mayoral candidate of Barug PDP-Laban, said that he will stand by his earlier decision to attend the mayoral debate organized by the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Cebu City Chapter.

“I respect the opinion of former mayor Mike Rama. Of course, that’s true, I’m very much ahead in the surveys but I will have to go on because I have made my statement that there’s going to be a debate in April 22 and I’m participating in it,” Labella said in a Facebook post at past 1 p.m. today, April 15.
Labella’s post solicited 175 reactions, 34 comments and 14 shares as of 2:30 p.m. today.
Supporters cheered Labella’s decision to push with the IBP debate.
“Go on to face tomas sa scheduled debate kay ipanghambog nya ka ni tomas nga misibog ka God bless you always. Take good care,” commented Elpidio Montecillo.
“❤️ Because Mayor Labella has Palabra de Honor, unlike someone,” said Alpi Cabatingan.
