Dawn graduation in Tuyan NHS ‘symbolic’

Cebu City, Philippines — The Tuyan National High School in the City of Naga, Cebu did something unique as it held its senior high school graduation and Grade 10 Moving Up ceremony at dawn.

The dawn graduation was held at 4:30 a.m on April 4, 2019.

“The school principal, Mr. Lyndon Dacer, thought it’s wise to hold the ceremony early so that by the time nga mahuman during sunrise, pwede na magsugod pangita ug trabaho ang graduates, armed with diplomas. So morag symbolic,” Naga City Councilor Junjie Cruz said.

At the 7 a.m, the graduation was all done and students were ready to face their daily tasks.

“The rising sun brought hope for the graduates in their quest for a bright future,” Councilor Cruz said.

Meanwhile, Cruz said that the city, together with the Department of Education Naga division and Public Employment Service Office, will host a Jobs Fair for senior high school graduates soon.  /bmjo
