CEBU CITY, Philippines – Sinulog Festival Queen 2019 Nicole Yance Borromeo gave back the Reyna ng Aliwan crown to Cebu.

The 18-year-old beauty queen was named Reyna ng Aliwan 2019 during the pageant night held on April 27, Saturday at the Aliw Theater in Pasay, Metro Manila.

Pageant results were posted on the Aliwan Fiesta’s Instagram account on the same night.

“Sinulog Festival’s pride, Nicole Borromeo takes the crown as the Reyna ng #Aliwan2019. Congratulations,” the post reads.

Cebu lost the Reyna ng Aliwan crown to Tacloban City native Chelsea Fernandez last year.

Boromeo’s court included first runner-up winner Aubrhie Carpio  of the Singkaban Festival. It was a triple tie for the second place that went to Roi Neve Comada (Panagbenga Festival), Alayyza Izzabelle Tolimao (Agten Tufi Festival), and Leandrea Gabrielle Batingan (Tanglawan Festival).

CDN Digital is yet to get Borromeo’s official statement through her manager Rabie Ian Pogoy.

Aside from bringing home the Aliwan Festival crown, Borromeo also clinched the Best in Festival Costume award.  The white ballgown that she wore to the pageant was by Cebuano designers Orville Biongcog and Brianna Alexis Gomez.  It was the very same gown that Boromeo wore during the Sinulog Festival Queen 2019 competition in January.

Boromeo also won  Miss White Rose, Best in Swimsuit, and Best in Evening Gown during the pre-pageant competition held on Friday, April 26.

The Reyna ng Aliwan 2019 is Borromeo’s first national crown. Other titles under her belt are the Sinulog Festival Queen 2019, Miss Silka Cebu 2017 and Miss Mandaue 2018 first runner-up.

The Barangay Guadalupe native finished senior high school at the Cebu Doctor’s University.

She is already the ninth Cebuana who won the Reyna ng Aliwan title. The past winners were Marla Alforque (2017), Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Thomalla (2016), Steffi Aberasturi (2014), Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell (2013), Miss Tourism International 2014 Angeli Dione Gomez (2012), Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2015 Rogelie Catacutan (2011), Miss Tourism International 2012 Rizzini Alexis Gomez (2010), and Sian Elizabeth Maynard (2009).

After the Reyna ng Aliwan 2019, Borromeo  will be staying in Manila to also prepare for the Miss Teen Philippines 2019 pageant slated on May 8. She is also Cebu’s representative in Miss Millennial Philippines 2019, a pageant in GMA’s noontime show “Eat Bulaga!” /dcb
