Cash aid promised to family of woman, who died in Tejero fire
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Barangay Tejero will give a financial assistance to the family of Lilian Intrampas, 66, whose charred remains were found inside the toilet of her house at 4:45 p.m. on April 27.
Tejero Barangay Captain Hermogenes Galang Jr. said in an interview with CDN Digital on Saturday, April 27, that they would provide financial assistance to the family that would be aside from what Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmeña would give the Intrampas family.
Galang also said that Intrampas daughter had told him that they would use the burial insurance of her mother for her wake and burial.
He, however, did not specify how much the barangay would give the family.
He also said that the family would also get financial assistance from the Cebu City government’s Champ program.

Galang told CDN Digital that they had placed the barangay under a state of calamity.
He said they would endorse this announcement to the Cebu City Council, who would official declare a state of calamity in the barangay.
Galang said that with the declaration of a state of calamity, the barangay could access its emergency funds worth at least P190,000.
Aside from the discovery of the charred remains of Intrampas on Saturday, Galang also said that the number of fire victims also increased from 981 on the late night of Friday, April 26, to 1,328 individuals on Saturday, April 27.
There were also nine delegates of the National Youth Day (NYD), who were fire victims.
