Former tinsmith caught with P170K shabu in Mabolo drug operation

CEBU CITY, Philippines — A former latero or tinsmith was arrested after he was caught with P170,000 worth of suspected shabu in an anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Mabolo in Cebu City on Thursday, May 9, 2019.

Marcel Jaculbe, 38, of Sitio Lahing Lahing 1, was handcuffed after he was caught with illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation, said Police Major Henrix Bancoleta, City Intelligence Branch deputy chief, in an interview with CDN Digital.

Bancoleta said that 25 grams of suspected shabu was confiscated from Jaculbe.

He said the confiscated illegal drugs had an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P170,000.

Last May 7, Cebu City police also confiscated P1.7 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tisa in Cebu City.

On the May 9 operation, Bancoleta said that they had put Jaculbe under surveillance for 10 days before they conducted the buy-bust operation.

He said that during their surveillance of the suspect, they found out that Jaculbe’s customers would include construction workers and allegedly some employees of an establishment near the area where the suspect lived.

Jaculbe was detained at the Cebu City Police Office detention cell pending the filing of charges./dbs
