Cebu City, Philippines—Cebuana ace Cherry “Sisi” Rondina of the University of Santo Tomas (UST)  has been named Most Valuable Player of the UAAP Season 81 women’s volleyball tournament after a scintillating season that saw her lead the Tigresses to their very first finals appearance in eight years.

A native of Compostela, the fifth-year spiker is making sure that she’s going out with a bang and put up impressive averages of 17.7 points per game and and 3.98 digs per set. She was also named as Second Best Open spiker and Best Scorer.

These latest awards add to her growing collection that already has four UAAP beach volleyball titles and four UAAP beach volleyball MVP awards.

Rondina also made history, becoming just the second player to win the indoor and beach volleyball MVP trophies in a single season. The last player to do it was Wendy Semana of Far Eastern University way back in UAAP Season 70. /bmjo
