PDEA-7 to check for narco politicians in CV
Cebu City, Philippines—With the elections over, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7) said it will be checking if there are politicians who may be linked to illegal drugs.
PDEA-7 spokesperson Leia Alcantara said in a press conference on Friday, May 17, 2019, that although they have not received any reports of any narco politician in Central Visayas yet, the issue will still be discussed in the Regular Intelligence Workshop that will be held with other law enforcement agencies.
“Usa sad gyud na sa mga gitanaw sa office, especially with the fact nga bago pagyud nahuman ang elections,” Alcantara said.
(That is one thing that the office is looking into, especially with the fact that the elections had just finished.)
Alcantara said that the time and place of the workshop is confidential.
Alcantara clarified that whether candidates were elected or not, they will still be investigated if they get any reports during the workshop.
“Regardless if daog ka or dili, if we received reports, amo gyud nang iverify,” she said.
(Regardless if you won or not, if we received reports, we will verify them.) /bmjo
