A native of Ilocos del Sur is the new head of the National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas.

Lawyer Max Salvador, who served as the regional director of the NBI Bicol for over a year, was appointed to take over the post of now NBI deputy director Antonio Pagatpat.

He assumed office today and said he will prioritize cases involving human trafficking, terrorism, and illegal drugs.

In his first day in office, Salvador told the media that they will soon file charges against all suspects in the ambush-slay of lawyer Noel Archival in Dalaguete town, south of Cebu.

He said they have identified all the suspects in the killing but is however careful not to reveal more details yet.
