Mayor Garcia assures Davide he will serve two-month suspension

Dumanjug Mayor Nelson Garcia personally assured Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III that he will serve the 60-day suspension order meted on him.

Garcia went to the governor’s office this morning to assure the governor that he will cooperate in the investigation. The two found themselves sipping coffee and laughing together inside the governor’s office while talking about the order.

Nelson is the younger brother of former governor and now 3rd Dist. Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia who locked herself inside the governor’s office when the Office of the President imposed a six-month suspension.

The Cebu Provincial Board recommended the suspension of Mayor Garcia for appointing a municipal secretary without consulting the town council.
