A 6-year-old boy survived an accidental fall from the upper ground level of a mall in the North Reclamation Area in Cebu City.

He was running, with his mother trying to keep up with him, when the boy slammed into the glass panel railing and fell, said PO2 Venerando Bacalso of the Mabolo police.

“Nag dagan-dagan ang bata unya gigukod siya sa iyang mama, pero wala naka apas,” Bacalso told Cebu Daily News. (The boy was running. His mother was going after him.)

The boy was conscious when he was rushed to Cebu Doctor’s Hospital by paramedics. He was accompanied to the hospital by the company nurse of SM City-Cebu and other officials.

A statement from the mall management said SM will continue to monitor the boy’s condition.
