Police kill wanted man in Consolacion
A MAN considered as one of the most wanted persons in Cebu was killed by police in barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion town.
The fatality was identified as Jeorge Blanco, 29.
Senior Insp. Leo Logrono of the intelligence branch of the Cebu Provincial Police Office said Blanco was the third most wanted person in the province for his alleged involvement in several robberies.
Last night, police rushed to Pulpogan after receiving a report that an armed man was spotted in the area.
The armed man turned out to be Blanco, Logrono said.
Logrono said they called out to Blanco to surrender but, in response, he allegedly drew a .45 caliber pistol and pointed it at the policeman, prompting the arresting team to fire shots.
Police brought Blanco to the Eversley Hospital in Mandaue City where the man was declared dead.
Recovered from Blanco’s possession was a sling bag containing 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P250,000.
